Last Monday I finally managed to visit Peter Burgess and see where he grows all the organically produced vegetables that he supplies through his Kitchen Garden organic box business.
Peter has several acres in the beautiful small village of Sisland just to the southeast of the City of Norwich and it is from here that he raises his crops of fantastic organic vegetables throughout the year.
Since it was established over twelve years ago Kitchen Gardens has grown to supply over 100 boxes of organic vegetables a week to clients in Norwich and the surrounding areas and is a great example of a inspirational small food producer.

Peter is a one man operation and he grows, cuts, boxes up and delivers to his customers on his own and has managed to establish Kitchen Gardens as one of the best organic box schemes in Norwich and possibly East Anglia.
He joined Slow Food Norwich very soon after it was formed at the end of last year and has been very supportive of the organisation and he took part in the Slow Food market in April at the Forum in Norwich and the National vegetarian day at Pulse cafe in June, he is also part of the Norfolk Organic Group.
Peter is always happy to show members and the public around his fields and crops and please do get in touch if you would like to visit his site in Sisland.
