English Organic and Biodynamic Wine Tasting

Several members of Slow Food Norwich attended a rare tasting of English organic and biodynamic wines at the Greenhouse Trust in Norwich last Friday evening.
The event was well attended and it was the last tasting of the year to be held at the Greenhouse, a popular organic and Fairtrade cafe with a wine and organic foods shop in the centre of Norwich.

Natural Wines in Norwich

Many of our members know and frequent the Greenhouse cafe in Norwich which specialises in vegetarian and vegan drinks and meals. The produce used in the cafe is all locally produced and organic, with a special emphasis on using only the best of what can be found in Norfolk.
The shop stocks organic and Fair trade goods provided by co operative businesses and sourced from around the world to offer diversity and choice to customers.

Slow Food and Slow Wine at St Benedicts Restaurant Norwich

Slow Food Norwich together with Raffles restaurants held a Le Marche food and wine evening in Norwich on the 25th January to feature wines from a Slow Wine producer in Italy.
The wines were all from the Le Marche region of eastern Italy and included the white Passerina and red Rosso Piceno together with the rare dessert cherry wine Vini di Visiciole. Slow Food Norwich Social and Tasting Evening

Slow food Norwich are pleased to be holding another social event for our members in Norwich in January 2012. The wine and food evening will be held at St Benedicts restaurant in Norwich and is featuring wine and food from the Le Marche region of eastern Italy.
The wine is being provided by a Slow Wine Italy member, Centoanni from Montefiore del Aso in southern Le Marche and the meal will be cooked using typical Le Marche recipes.

FARM shop, Hackney in East London

Slow Food Norwich was asked by members of Slow food London to arrange a visit by Andrea Tomassetti of Slow food Senigallia to hold a workshop about Italian olive oil.
The FARM shop in Dalston Lane, Hackney is a community based organisation working closely with local groups to promote good healthy sustainable food and also establish links with similar bodies in London and elsewhere in the UK. Olive oil and Rape seed oil Tastings

Following a successful wine tasting event in London on Tuesday 29th March, held in conjunction with members of Slow Food London, we have now been asked to host more tasting events in London. But our focus is always primarily on Norwich and north Norfolk so with the help of several of our members we are now planning an oil tasting event in Norwich in May.

Slow Food and Italian Slow Wine day in London

The Slow Wine event held yesterday in London at the Horticultural Halls in Victoria was deemed a great success by all who were involved. The day was to mark the launching of a new Italian Slow wine App for the Apple i phone and i pad in the UK and it was demonstrated to the public, press and trade by members of Slow Wine Editore from Italy.

Slow Food London and Cambridge

Slow Food Norwich is actively working with other Slow Food groups in East Anglia and also with the large London Slow Food convivium to promote the Slow Food message to a much wider audience. A new convivium has being started in Essex and members of Slow Food Norwich and Slow Food Cambridge will be attending meetings with the members of the new group in March.
