Slow food Norwich together with Olivaverde took part in the first Trade School to be held in Norwich which was part of the Common Room project held at St Laurence's Church on Saturday 10th November.
The Common Room was held to try and establish community awareness of the Church and to also obtain feedback from the local community and businesses for the Churches Conservation Trust which owns the building. Slow Food Norwich is hosting a joint food event with Slow Food UK at their shop and offices in Neals Yard, Covent Garden on Thursday 15th December. There are two themes for the event that evening, firstly a tasting of five olive oils which are all produced organically by small artisan farmers, three olive oils from Italy, one from Malta and one from Crete. Twenty of us, Slow food Norwich members and guests met up at St Benedicts restaurant in Norwich on Friday evening 8th July, kindly hosted by Jayne Raffles of the Raffles group of restaurants in Norwich.
The food was excellent and the evening was a great success, with many of the members meeting only for the first time as we all live and work in different parts of Norwich and Norfolk.
