Slow Food Norwich was asked by our friends at Slow Food London to come along to the "London Food Link" Soiree in Camden Town on Wednesday 27th July. This event which is held three or four times a year was held at the world famous Cecil Sharp house near Regents park, so I went along to find out more about "London Food Link" and its members.
We met at 6.30, some of my friends from Slow Food were there and went through to the packed hall where a series of speakers from various charities, food organisations and voluntary organisations talked about their work and current projects.

Speakers included Georgie Knight from the London Food Link, Mikey Tomkins from Capital Bee, Stephanie Wood from School Food Matters and Colin MacIntyre of the charity Mary's Meals, which feeds over 500,000 children each day in 12 countries throughout the world.
The meeting finished at 8pm, when there was a chance to network for another couple of hours and also try some of the delicious food produced by the Nice Green Cafe from north London.
It was really an inspirational evening and Slow food Norwich will now be making closer ties to many of the members of this organisation.
I am sure that many Slow food Norwich members will been attending the next "London Food Link" event which is to be held in either October or November at the same venue in London.
