Slow Food Norwich toether with Slow Food London recently took part in the first Festivaldelgusto food event in the region of Le Marche in eastern Italy. The Festival was held near the beautiful Adriatic resort of Senigallia and was hosted by the Festivaldelgusto and Vinitours groups in order to promote small local Italian wine, food and olive oil producers and also act as a networking event for the producers to meet clients and buyers from other parts of the world.
Slow Food members in the UK had been involved with events in London and Norwich at which some of the Italian producers had taken part and when they had the chance to attend this first of several planned food and wine festivals in Italy they were more than happy go to Italy to help support this first"taster" event.

At the event there were twelve local Marchigiani producers present and the evening included tutored olive oil tastings of three different organic olive oils and also tastings of four wines all from the Marche region.
There was also honey from a producer from Fabriano as well as a chocolate maker and a supplier of organic meat and salami, some of which was used later in the meal prepared by a famous chef from Senigallia and attended by forty guests and producers.
Guests and trade buyers from Australia, USA, Cnada, Holland and the UK were present and this first festival was a great success with all those present on the evening.
