Slow food Norwich were very pleased to be able to help with the Sagra that was held at Creake Abbey Barns in North West Norfolk last Friday night, 7th October.
The Italian food event was held in the wonderful main barn at Creake Abbey Studios and one of the themes for the evening was the use of extra virgin olive oil that is made by a Slow food member in Italy, Frantoio Montedoro near Senigallia.
Andrea Tomassetti who is the producer was unable to be present himself due to the busy olive oil harvest just starting in Italy but was pleased that his oil was being used at the event and Dermott gave a short talk about the olive oil and also about Slow food international and Slow food Norwich.

The meal was prepared by Anna Mosesson and Lin Murray and Anna hosted the event with talks and even managed to sing a short Aria!
Anna was one of the founder members of Slow food Norwich, is a committee member at Norwich and is very supportive of the Slow Food ethos and objectives. Anna has many years of experience in the food business, having owned and managed several restaurants in London and also co hosted the Feastival in Clapham Cmmon in London with Jamie Oliver last summer.

Stefano Milani of Selezione Zanotto the Italian wine specialist based in London supplied the wines for the evening and he is also a member of Slow Food London. The wines were specially chosen by Stefano to accompany the dishes that Anna cooked for the 80 assembled guests and Stefano is hoping to make the wines available in Norfolk in 2012.
